Agave indoors?

Hi all
My brother asked me about growing agave (esp A americana) indoors in San Francisco. He has a wall of windows that faces northeast and has no obstructions at all (he is on the 16th floor). I told him I was doubtful that an agave would be happy there but thought I'd solicit your input first.
He also has a balcony with a constant, moist breeze but I don't know whether that would be much better for the agave. 

Any thoughts?
