This red poppy, as Sean has written, appears in many grain fields in
Denmark and Sweden, sometimes in great sweeps or along the roadways. I
don't know about Sweden, but I do know that in Denmark, if other farmers
feel that one farmer isn't keeping his weeds under control, a group
of farmers can ask to have the whole 'weedy' crop plowed under to protect
their own crops.
