Re: Fwd: Gardens in Turkey?

Yalova is easy to to - you can take a bus there from Istanbul fairly
easily. After the bus leaves Istanbul, it takes a ferry to Yalova.

Samanli Koy is the name of a nearby village (köy = village) or sometimes
a suburb/neighborhood, where the Arboretum actually is. I haven't
actually been to the arboretum there. The villages are well-served by
minibus, usually from the bus stations in smaller towns, and she would
just need to show the name Samanli Köy to anyone there to get directed.
People are very helpful and hospitable, and will most likely lead her by
the hand to the right bus.

It will help to write it correctly as "köy" means village, but "koy" (no
umlaut) means "put". Also no dot on the "i" in Samanli and it will be
perfect. ;) Not sure how the umlaut will come out on email readers.
