I can also say that gardens in spain are rarely seen from the street. most
are walled in or at least hedged in.
the concept of open gardens for the passers by to see is not shared much
here.
I am , myself, quite zealous of my privacy and I strive not to show even a
glimpse of my garden to the occasional passer by.
