local SF Bay announcement - CalHort talk this Monday, Nov. 19

For local SF Bay Area folks -

I was just talking with my friend Dick Turner, editor of Pacific 
Horticulture Magazine, and I thought I had to pass along this information 
because of his excitement of this Monday's CalHort talk.

He use phrases such as "Really, really good" and "the funniest talk I've 
ever seen" to describe Kelly Dodson's presentation entitled 'Confessions of 
A Plant Addict'.  Apparently Kelly is a horticultural deadpan comic of 
sorts who is also a avid plant collector.  He supports his addiction 
through his nursery, Reflective Gardens Nursery near Poulsbo, Washington, 
and much of his talk's material will deal with trying to run this business 
when he'd really rather be out collecting!  Knowing that Dick Turner 
probably sees more horticultural presentations than most anyone else I can 
name, I consider his praise of Kelly as a speaker to be significant.  For

For those of you unfamiliar with the CalHort venue, it meets every third 
Monday of the month in San Francisco (except December).  Normally held at 
the Morrison Auditorium at the California Academy of Sciences in Golden 
Gate Park (opposite the De Young Museum), PLEASE NOTE that this meeting 
will be held at St Nicholas Church, 5200 Diamond Hts Blvd., San

CalHort members are admitted free, the guest fee is $5.  Perhaps we'll see
