Subject: Compost
Dear all,
thank you for all the nice and interesting
answers that I got about composting i Greece!
Gardening here is so exciting and different from
Sweden. I find it very exciting, and am very greatful for any tips on plants
and trees that do well in southern Greece, and also on where to get hold of
them as the nurseries really have very little to offer.
Kind regards,

you won´t regret planting a carob tree( ceratonia siliqua),
slow growing to a majestic mushroom shape, with a lovely, soft evergreen
foliage creating wellcome dense shade to retire under at siesta
time.
a fig tree is also worth considering, very productive and
fast growing.
other favorites of mine are the date palm and the cypress (
cupressus sempervirens)
you may be able to get hold of the local cretan palm
phoenix theofrasti.
would be delighted to make more suggestions.
