What do you mean, the yucca blossoms are tasty?
if a mere "furriner" may intervene. Years and years ago I remember reading (in National Geographic I think) about a yucca in Mexico whose flowers were made into fritters by the locals, much as folk use squash blossoms and day lily flowers in the States (and in NZ too!).
This Yucca was apparently extremely prodigal with its seed production and the excess went to nourish a Yucca moth (which in return I think first helped to effect the Yucca's pollination) so it was quite an important part of the local ecology.
Incidently, I seem to have been gettign about the usual number of postings on the list recently and replying to those which interested me. However perhaps I am the one which some spam filters disapprove of!
