> This is a big problem for us because the rattlesnakes will come in the yard to get them. There is nothing more disconcerting than to be weeding and have a snake nearby! Myself, I would encourage the snakes, - they won't bother you if you don't step on them, etc - although they can be a problem if you have pets in the yard. I don't think they climb trees, though. There are snakes that do, however . . .(though they are probably none native to southern California)
