It's only that there seems to be somewhat of a consensus that while
VanB's is fine for the bulbs they offer, they leave something to be
desired in the quality of the perennials they sell. I'm sure there
are many who have had good luck, too (as my flowering of this peony
testifies), but I'll never forget that about 2 years ago, Consumer
Reports actually gave Michigan Bulb (Back! Back, I say!!!) a good
report based on a single successful clematis.
