Re: daylilies

Hi Debb and Everyone,  

I'm brand new to the Perennials List and very much a novice.  I, too have day
lillies and am interested in whether or not to cut the foliage down now or
wait until the foliage completely dies off.  I have had these lillies for
over 20 years in the back yard.  I like them but their blooming time is so
short and then the foliage gets messy.

I'm looking forward to learning a lot from the members of this list.  My
interest is very high and I put in a large garden this summer, about 17' by
13'.  However the weather has been sooooooo hot and humid that it has been
difficult to grow very much except the purple grass. hostas and purple
palace.  Any suggestions on what I can plant, especiallly this time of the
year, would be appreciated.

Also looking forward to "talking" to many of you!
