As for hardy hibiscus, I don't know about them. There is a home
in town
with two shrub-type plants in the front yard about 8 feet tall
in bloom
now, one is pink, the other purple and I'm wondering if they
might be? I
have wanted to go up , knock on the door and ask, but haven't
screwed up
the nerve yet.

This statement made me wonder... Just for kicks, how many of us have
wanted to just peck on a plant owners door, and ask what is that ??????
by the fence in your back yard? Or, better yet, "I have admired your
????? for ever! Could I possibly have a cutting so I can quit ogling
your yard, for fear of scaring your children?"
There's a home in my neighborhood with THE most luscious, dark
purple/bordering on cobalt hydrangeas. I salivate everytime I see them!
hahahaha They are simply divine! I've combed the nurserys looking for
them, only to get a stupified look when I ask if they have any hydrangea
that color... None of the catalogs I've found have any... But I'm
seeing more and more of these babies around...
