We mixed a very strong Neem solution and dropped the bugs directly into it.
Weeks later the good swimmers were still alive. Neem has not killed, that is
dead, anything in my garden or winter garden. On the package there is some
instruction as to covering the plant with Neem based solution. The bug eats
the plant and then he does not feel well and may not reproduce.
On the other other hand the bugs may just like Neem. Neem is a patented
product in the USA. In the rest of the world it is a brew from the Neem tree
of India. If you lived in the correct climate you could grow one in your
garden and save a few dollars. Only in the US do you pay for it.
Neem holds out some promise as it is a botanical and free of the "chemical"
scare. Botanicals kill fish and other animals and might not do us any good
but they do not have the reputation.
