    Both retail and wholesale operations shut down? Or do you know? I have been receiving mailouts from them on wholesale as recently as a month or so ago. Recently received their 2002 wholesale catalog.
    Mail-order is a tough road to go. This year I reached the point where the catalogs and postage cost me more than the plants I sell in the inventory. Then the web site.Postage has gone up again, they are talking of killing my plants and seeds if I use the US postal service, new customs regs and restrictions, getting close to impossible to ship anything west of the Rockies....
    I can easily see them throwing up their hands and saying the hell with it.

Shady oaks has discontinued doing mail order. That is the news-they have laid off a number of their staff and their website has been down for a month or two.
