Lurker returns and question about hardy kiwi

Hello all, I was once an active member of this list but all that came to
and end with the birth of my daughter almost a year and a half ago.
I've been lurking on-and-off since then and now I've decided to
re-emerge (although I probably won't be quite as "talkative" as I used
to be!)

I have a question about hardy kiwi.  Has anyone grown any variety of
this plant and can you give me any recommendations or cautions?.  I've
seen photos of a variety called "winter..." something or other I think,
with variegated leaves that is supposed to be fairly easy to grow and is
definitely lovely - and of course there's the fruit!
