I planted several of them last year myself--a very unusual frond. I've heard
of them being invasive and maybe in a few years I'll be cussin' them out
myself, but right now I wouldn't mind "assertive." Have them mostly around
the far side of my pond under some trees and bushes.
Always enjoy your posts....

Hello Diann,
I have had the Sensitive fern in my garden for years. Love the "black
beads"
each early winter. It has always been nothing more than a reasonable grower
for
me. I have had people come through and remark about having "that invasive
fern" in
my garden. Never has been. Wish it would be a bit more assertive. Perhaps
with
milder temps in winter, more moisture on a consistent level....?
It is an attractive fern with the broad almost coarse leaves, decent
color and
those black shiny beads in the early winter.
