Nothern Maidenhair fern

Have you ever seen a 5 gallon pot filled with Adiantum pedatum? If you
ever did, you would try to grow one just like it. I saw it at Sunlight
Gardens and wished for a camera. It makes you want to take a seat and
just bask in the glory. I have a large decorative concrete pot full of
Adiantum venustum now but am going to start that pot of our native
maidenhair fern if spring ever gets here. The venustum has not turned
brown through out the winter months for 2 years and this year has been a
real winter so far here in Tennessee. I will use good potting mix with
extra sand, perlite and limestone sand to fill my new pot for the
pedatum and use several plants to get a head start on a gorgeous accent
for the shady garden.
