I enjoyed the pictures of this garden! Thanks for posting them.
One question, if you wouldn't mind hazarding a guess: What is the flower
blooming directly behind the hosta and in front of the Joe Pye Weed?
My suggestion of a garden 'not to be missed' are the Gardens of the
Villa d'Este at Tivoli, approximately an hour outside Rome. This water
circus was created by Pirro Ligorio during the Renaissance and paid for
by Cardinal Ippolito d'Este, the son of Lucrezia Borgia and Alfonso
d'Este, Lord of Ferrara (her third husband at the age of 22 ! ).
