If you want to see some English gardens by coach tour there is a company I can recommend. It is called Gentle Journeys. They leave from the Embankment and will visit two gardens, sometimes three if you are there the right days. Usually Sissinghurst and Great Dixter together.Lunch is a stop in a pub or in a small cafe, all charming and a great chance to talk to the other gardeners with you.
I picked up the pamphlet at the tourist information center and the cost in 1997 was L49. Worth it if you don't want to drive on their wet roads.
