Paul,
I have raised several batches of pelargonium. There was no seed available in
past years for double flowered plants. The singles shatter upon blooming,
lasting one day or two. I concluded that cutting grown plants were superior
container plants. Where the blossom has double florets, you have a longer
lasting bloom.
Still, many seed grown geraniums are sold in six-packs bringing down the
quantity cost, I suppose. For me the color of the blossom is important.
Those balcony or "balcon" plants never do well for me though they are very
floriferous elsewhere.
