One thing an annual leaves behind usually are nice seeds to rejuvenate
again and again.
I guess you descibed my feelings pretty well. I am glad I am not alone
in these feelings. I will walk past a houseplant and brush its leaves
sometimes and say hi to it. They must have some sort of sensory since
they do wilt and turn brown when not handled properly.
And I think they make contact with us sometimes also as we pass by. I
used to clean house for a living and it is really a shame the way some
people neglect their plants. They must have figured out I was watering
them. One woman had a whole bunch of plants on the very top of her
kitchen cabinets, there to neglect. One day I took them all down and
gave them a nice soak while I finished up in the kitchen. The next time
we came by, two weeks later, they were still all perky.
Makes you feel good to make a difference.
I wish it would lighten up on the rain here so I could do at least
something in the yard. There is so much to do starting with nothing that
I just have to at least get something in the soil to loosen it up.
I had a dog tie out, one of those screw type ones and yesterday went
and got it out of the ground. The ground was so wet underground that it
made a blurp noise when I pulled it out and I could see water.
It's no wonder we don't all just float away.
