Bill,
my crocosmia just hangs on here in Kentucky, zone 6a. No spreading, dag
gum it. However, I have had gladiolus, dahlias, and cannas come back for
the last three years or more! Talk about beating the odds...
Oh, hey, that's another truly red flower: gladiolus. They're not my cup
of tea, but the hummingbirds like them, so I grow some for them. I can
never figure out how to place them successfully in the border. They almost
demand a separate patch just for cutting.
