Paul,
This sounds like the problem I am having exactly. Is there a cure?

Just a note about browning leaves on Toadlilies.
Most of these plants like moisture retentive soils that are well draining,
dryness does cause some leaf drop. Another factor is foliar nematodes,
which
cause yellow-tan and then brown streaks threw the leaves at the base of the
plants.
Foliar nematodes infect sevral hundred diffrent species of garden plants,
but
in most plants, they do not cause pronounced symptoms until very late in the
year. But toadlilies will show symptoms early.
