Hi Chris, I didn't realize there were alliums for shade. In looking around though I found a wish list item, Allium carinatum 'Olympic Mist'. It has the shape of flavum and the other A. carinatums I mentioned earlier except that it is BLUE! But it is $10 for one and the only other suppliers are in Europe, one of which has it for 25 for 12 pounds, which I'd pop for but it doesn't appear they ship to the US. Darn! -----Original Message----- From: owner-perennials@hort.net [o*@hort.net] On Behalf Of Christopher P. These are Allium flavum, Allium > carinatum ssp pulchellum and Allium carinatum ssp pulchellum f. > album. I love Allium! I have to stick to shade species, but they act as such nice accents. My favorite of all is Allium thunbergii 'Ozawa'. Here's my old writeup from when I had the nursery: http://bonvivantnursery.com/display.cgi?code=05C-0004 Although I have no idea what I was thinking with that Nepeta ucranica pairing. And now, nine years later, I see a typo. :D > I am in northeast Indiana and the rain just keeps coming this year. > Weâve had flooding, though my location is reasonably high so Iâm ok. > Still I have areas that are too wet to plant. They just start to dry > out and another wave of rain hits. Itâs frustrating. This summer has been awful rain-wise, and a lot of the sun-loving/dry plants are suffering. The vegetables, on the other hand, are loving it.
