Re: Birds

I mentioned the havoc the ducks and geese do in my garden every year, and
either others don't have the problem or they haven't found a solution. My
solution is to plant twice as much as I want or need. I also discovered that
some of the uprooting of bulbs I thought was due to geese was actually due to
those innocent looking doves! They eat the foilage then pull up the bulb and
eat as much as they can of that. The smaller bulbs hardly stand a chance. I
lost 90% of them. This is in an area that is 100% free of squirrels,
chipmonks, mice or other rodents as it is in an over-landscaped apartment
complex.

Anyway, what does one do about *bird damage*? The sparrows and mourning
doves have taken a liking to my sedum (autumn joy and another one that
resembles it whose name escapes me), and they all have large, triangular
 *beak bites* in the leaves.

Any ideas or deterrents? I don't use chemical pesticides in my garden
either, Not for any greater good, but because I'm too cheap to buy them.
