Greetings all....
Once again I looked in a British gardening publication and now am trying to
track down plants whose pictures caught my eye.
In the July 1998 issue of BBC Gardeners' World, an article on Cannas showed
& mentioned several very nice cultivars that I am not familiar with. Of
course I am interested in finding a source for them....wholesale, retail,
trade, small bills folded in a copy of the National Enquirer.
'Australia' purple leaves, orange-red flowers
'Champion' bronzed leafed, salmon-pink flowers
'En Avant' green leaves, yellow flowers spotted red
'Liberation' purple leaves, orange-yellow flowers
For shear extreme horticulture, Canna musifolia....apparently the biggest
canna of all is also sought.
Of course some of these may be posing as other culitvars so if you have
insight, please let me know.
Does anyone have an address for the Brockings Exotics, run by Joy and Ian
Cooke? They apparently hold the British national collection of cannas.
Has anyone come across a nursery in this country that has a truly
extensive list of cannas other than the standard varieties?
Thanks,
Scott Vergara
