I tried a product called "Squirrel Away" (this is mostly cayenne pepper)
and straight cayenne pepper as found in the grocery store. Neither product
worked. At first the squirrels ate some of the treated seed and then ran
away but after a while they just sat on top of our feeder and continued to
eat the seed.
