The variety is a purple flowering phlox. Last spring it put forth a few blooms. There is a natural mulch of pine needles. I grow woodland phox in full sun and it thrives, though it took a few years to get going. I grow the variety "Clouds of Perfume" (I think that is the correct name) in a more shaded area and it has spread quite a bit. I was wondering if the soil PH had anything to do with the slow growth of P. stolonifera.
