Sharon-
I can't help you with your bug problem but I will encourage you not to give
up on gardening. Sometimes it takes awhile to fight the battle with the bugs
but I believe where there is a will there is a way. Just consider it a
challenge. It will take a little while to have a garden that is balanced in
critters that will "take care" of each other.
The rewards from your garden will soon out weigh the problems that you will
encounter throughout the year....I'm sure that there are several others
gardeners out there that will agree with me.
I've been battling mealy bugs this year "big time"----this is the first time
I've ever seen them in my garden, usually they are confined to the
greenhouse. This year they are covering my verbena's and some of my
brugs----we've been getting so much rain lately that it is pointless to treat
them because it just washes away.
Hang in there and I'm sure someone on this list will be able to provide you
with the advice/help that you need....just don't give up. Not that the bugs
in your garden are your mistake but it is a mistake non-the-less.....we learn
from them and once this information is absorbed and remembered it will be one
less problem to tackle in the future. Just keep in mind that if you didn't
have this problem you wouldn't have the opportunity to learn about bugs and
the remedies.
Don't worry about your buddleia.....they are "troopers" and he will come out
of this problem even stronger.
Good luck and try not to be discouraged
