I had this plant in my garden years ago. It's a thug! It took 4 years for
me to get rid of it!

As I remember, it likes difficult conditions--sunny, hot, and dry. Perhaps
it would be better behaved in a damp environment. 

It is pretty, but my advice to anyone who wants to try it for the first
time is to physically contain it until you know how well it will grow in
your garden.
