what a lucky day!!!

I have noticed on my drive into work what seemed to be some yellow iris
in an unkempt field.
Well, today on my way home I finally pulled over to this area and saw a
For Sale sign on a rusty fence and a quite overgrown site. Most of the
actual plants were outside the fence on what was obviously a rockery, by
the amount of rocks present.
There were lots and lots of flowering artemesia, about a dozen yellow
iris whose rhizomes were quite buried. There are also a lot of day lily
leaves whose true nature/colour is yet to be disclosed. Most of those
(at least the ones I examined) seem to be rooted between crevices of
rocks.
I tried to remove the iris but they were well buried. I went back to the
car in the hopes of finding something I could use as an implement.
I luckily had a knife n the car and some plastic bags.( I shall be
puting a trowel in there tomorrow!) I carefully extruded a lot of the
iris' and bundles of artemesia.
Unfortunately I have to go out so I have placed everything into water
and will plant tomorrow morning.
It was obviously someone's garden that will now be residing in mine!!
And in a few friends gardens as well as there is actually too much for
me I think.
I have to admit that I would not mind some of the rocks but will have to
be satisfied that they are too difficult to move.
So that is the lucky day I have had.
typing with very dirty nails!!
