I have a standard gardenia and a Sweet Shrub (Magnolia fiscata)
which I bought and planted two months ago along the fence line on the
south side of my yard in full sun. They are both looking very pitiful with
leaf drop and very little new growth. Did I plant them in the wrong
place? They get full sun all day. Could it be too wet with all of the
this rain we've had or could it be the pH? Please help, I really want
them to make it. I also have a miniature gardenia on the west side of my
house almost under the eaves. It's shaded by some hidden gingers when they
come up inthe spring. It looks pitiful too. I bought and planted it the
same time as the others. I also have an Angel's trumpet on the same fence
line and it's doing well. The soil in Louisiana is a terrible gumbo clay.
Somebody please help!
