Does anyone have a web address for a site which will help me identify
the things living in my compost so I know whether or not they would be
harmeful to my plants if I spread it on the garden?
There are tiny almost translucent worms less than a thumnail long and
lots of small flies with brownish orange bellies. I compost garden
and vegetarian kitchen waste in a black plastic woven bin with some
air holes though it tends to get too soggy, and I used well rotted
horse manure as the catalyst.
There was a mouse nesting in the shredded newspaper I'd added to
improve the moisture balance, but I persuaded her to leave only to
find she tunnelled under the shed instead.
TIA
