Have you tried to grow Shirley poppies from seed? They did great here in
central Florida, bloomed in a single season. I bought something like a
thousand seeds for $3 from Johnny's (great source for seeds, the prices are
the lowest in town and germination rates are as good as anyone that I have
tried). They bloomed for a solid three months, through the winter here, great
colored flowers on very sturdy plants. I will definately plant more next year.
