Re: what's in bloom now
I am a lurker too and I just wish I could share some of my hollyhocks
with those of you who want them. They are five and six feet tall in all
colors of red and pink and salmon along my old Pennsylvania Dutch barn
(have probably been growing there for one hundred years) When they start
to look ugly (after they bloom), I cut them down and scatter the seeds
on top of the ground. My aunt told me you can just scatter seeds on top
of the snow here in Michigan and they will come up the following year. I
think some of you are babying them a little too much and they can't
handle it. :0) Jill
