    I assume you are talking about the Royal or Regal Ladyslipper photos on my web
site? They are outdoor orchids for the garden... including where you are (but I
can not ship to Canada). In fact, you have some very lovely species of native
orchids growing in your area. See if you can find a native wildflower guide for
you area at the library. You may be  very pleasantly surprised.
    Although they are still a bit pricey because of the newness, tissue culture
and breakthroughs on seed germination are quickly making native orchids available
to gardeners. No more need to collect from the wild.
