deep digging

We are doing a test on double digging with daffodils this spring but it
will be next year before the results will show. It has been reported
that where the tree machines turn the earth 3 feet deep the daffodil
roots grow that deep. No amending just the soil that is there. Now
this is in Oregon but I guess we can tell you for sure after next
spring. We all need to try two plants if we can get down that far. I
have rocks that design my garden--you know--Leaver-right rocks. When
you dig, you have to leaverright where it is and move the planting hole
over.
