Re: plants deer LOVE

I have an idea for an experiment for you, Marge. Get some 1X4 or 1X6 inch
wide boards and lay them parallel to one another, with about 4 inches
between them. Then pour corn gluten meal down through that space. Move one
board 4 inches on the other side of one board and stripe corn gluten meal
down through the space. What I'm getting at is something that will look
like cattle guards (i.e., pipe, space, pipe, space, etc.) to the deer but
won't be terribly expensive (unless you have a lot of land and they enter
from all sides), and it certainly won't hurt your soil (CGM is 10% N, and
contains P & K too.). Might need to be reapplied after heavy rains...But it
might work, if it's wider than they can broadjump. Margaret L
