Thanks for the replies on cutting off Hepatica foliage. I was
interested in Gene's comment about dead foliage. By late February or
early March the foliage on my Hepaticas (just two plants: one H.
nobilis and one H. transsilvanica)is either still green and quite
fleshy looking or green with just a brown rim to the leaves and not
really dead looking. This I suppose was why I wasn't sure about
cutting it off.
However, I feel reassured that it's OK at this stage but probably not
earlier in the winter - and I've certainly enjoyed the flowers more
