Re: Hot Weather/Gardening style

Hi Lynn

I hope you are right about it being a good year for the garden. I'm a little
concerned about my plants and also the veggie garden. For weeks now it has
been really warm in the daytime and then would drop 20 to 30 degrees at night
and it seems to have hindered the growth of the plants. seems like some of
them are just sitting there doing nothing but taking up space. I hope, since
the night temps have warmed up somewhat, that I will see a change..........
My irises are just about finished for this season. they have been so pretty,
and I have already moved some of them, to coordinate colors. I have a black
(or deep, deep purple) and have moved in a yellow, pink, and light blue in the
same bed..
I have several differant colors, but some of them did not bloom this year. I
guess because I transplanted a lot of them last year and then added several
inches of mulch in the fall.
I do love the iris also the siberian iris.
like you I have transplanted mums and am trying to root some of the cuttings.
