Yes, Paul, more time. It is too cold to work outside here. Minus 26 F. two
days ago. I have a few frozen hosta plus damage on other plants. I visited
a nursery today and they had a lot of damage on perennnials from these late
May frosts. We will be past the first of June and have not had enough time
to get ready for summer. All my summer stuff is packed into the the safe
places around here waiting for settled weather. This may be the year of no
summer. We have had a lot of rain as well, nearly daily, some part of each
day plus snow.. A nursery visited had signs reading that if you planted out
greenhouse selections and they froze, do not come back with complaints. One
year we had a hose freeze and split on the 4th of July at our Adirondack
camp. Must be one of those years coming. The bright spot is that the
weather which is not good for us is also not good for blackflies so we have
been spared. Having no blackflies is worth a celebration.
