The only Clematis recta that I am familiar with is Clematis recta 'Purpurea'
-- Yes, it is floppy- but can be pulled throught a shrub. If you purnue it,
after flowering the darker it's leaves will stay. As this is a purple form,
and all purple foliaghed plants do better in sun, I don't hve expereince
with it in shade. However, the sunny spot I've got it in only receives
about 5 hrs. of sun daily.
