Hi Traci,

If it is the same plant, with common names you are never too sure, it is a 
native here in central Florida. It has bracts of white or lavender flowers 
with distinctive whisker-like stamens, hence the name, it grows to 
approximately 30", requires part to full sun, is fairly drought tolerant but 
is tender. If you fertilize with a balanced mixture it will bloom through 
summer.
