Re: Catching seeds/ now Hollyhocks
to all
well folks you will never believe this "I have a larkspur
blooming" I almost fainted. you will never believe how long I have
been looking forward to this day. I want to thank the lady on this
list that told me "she just pitched a handful of seed into the snow,
and when the snow melted in the spring she had oddles of larkspurs"
so back in the winter months (Feb. I think) we didn't have any snow,
but it was about the coldest weather we were gonna get, I sowed my
larkspur seed. I guess I sowed probable 6 packages of seed and got
maybe 15 plants, and my dog smashed some of them with his big paws.
Now I have maybe 8 plants with buds and 1 blooming. I'm in flower
heaven.
And Gene I planted my hollyhocks Sat. I have planted them in what I
feel like are protected areas meaning they will get some sun, but not
harsh sun. every things I read, it said full sun, but I didn't think
they would survive our harsh summers. some of them will get some very
early morning sun, and some will get some very late evening sun. I
spent almost all day trying to decide where was the best location, now
I'll just have to wait for the outcome.
thanks to everyone for the advice. there is a chance that I might
become a decent gardener yet there is hope.
