Re: amsonia & winter prep

This plant sounds like it would do well here in St Louis! I'm excited! Now I
have to hunt thru my catalogs to find it! Can I plant it next spring?
Part of my regular prep for the winter, I have completed, like getting rid of
impatiens to the compost pile, but still want to plant some more bulbs in
ground and in two containers for the front yard. Got my husband to finally
cut down the HUGE cedar tree that was full of bag worms, down, now we just
have to finish up mulching the debris, and leaves from the oak tree, dig out
the stump etc. etc.!! Move a shrub and lay out a side yard, full sun area for
planting in spring!!!
I leave most of mums alone, since my garden is only two winters old, they
aren't huge yet. I haven't yet cut them back a little, nor added my compost
and mulched leaves yet. My butterfly bush is gearing up for its first
winter, and should bring some interest to the winter. Already have a resident
in one of my four bird houses, can't tell which type of bird is there, but
catch him getting shelter from the rain we had!
Actually, I would love to attend the "whine and cheese affair" aren't
people funny? The color thread and subsequent posts just make me smile!
Hope you all have a great and safe Thanksgiving.
