Debbie,
I have A. hubrectii partnered with cotinus (smoke bush) behind it, with a
yellow variegated yucca and in front of that is a nepeta. It's one of my
favorite parts of the garden.
I also grow Amsonia taberaemontana. We are in a humid zone 6 and both do
well for me.
