I transplanted the following Asclepias to my garden this year.
Purpurascens, variegata and exaltata. I do not remember a lot of the deatils
right now, just they were all recommended for part shade...open edge of the
wood or a clearing. Variegata sounded the most decorative to look at. All
were eaten to the ground, stem and all, before I got to see anything in the
way of bloom. Seems to me those monarchs are eating themselves out of house
and home....
