Re:invasive plants


I have common hops that I grow for drying. They are a real problem, the
vines grow very fast and like bindweed wrap around anything close by. My
rose bushes disappear inside if I am not careful. Also they send up
suckers from the roots, often several feet from the main plant.
I still plan to keep growing them, to control I yank up unwanted suckers
and clip off all extra vines. It makes a quick screen and the bunches of
hops on the female plants are very decorative this time of year.  
I got the seed from Richters in Ontario who carry several varieties
suitable for making beer. Janet
