If the mildew is not too bad you can cut the foliage back and let it
grow again. I did this to some pink garden phlox this spring and they came
back with no mildew and are now blooming. Also, I have heard, (but not tried
it myself) that mixing 1 tsp baking soda, 1T veg oil, and 1 tsp lemon scent
dish soap in a gallon of water and spraying it on them will help. Like I
said, I have not tried that but cutting mine back worked well for me.
