Sure you can. My husband collects them in the fall, wraps them in a moist
paper towel which he ties in a plastic bag and puts in the refrigerator. He
changes the paper towel occasionally to keep it from molding. The white oaks
germinate right in the refrigerator. In the spring he plants them in trays
which he keeps outside until they are about six inches tall and then plants
them out where they are to grow. The real trick is to put some sort of cage
over the seedlings to protect them from critters.
