Why prizes for the minor interest vegetables? 
My experience for the past two years is that awarding prizes for a few 
non-pumpkin entrants slows down the whole affair. Last year the special prize 
for last place(to encourage entrants and make the contest more fun, I would 
think) went to the second place tomato grower, who also got a ribbon for 
second place. 
Is the decision to have the other veggies set in stone?
